Gathering students together before the start of the third term, NOUSPR Project Leader Dan Karangwa (third from left) is seen with the smiling group.
The school term started on Tuesday 21st August and the sponsored students (with Daniel and Claire pictured below) collected their school materials ready for studying in their respective boarding schools. In Rwanda you need to take everything with you as school fees cover only the basics for an education; teacher’s salaries and food! All books, stationery and other essentials need to be paid for separately.
The trustees at Forward Africa Education Trust transfer the funds for these materials alongside the school fees from the UK and local partner NOUSPR buys the goods and distributes them.
Pictured below are the exercise books, pens, pencils, black school shoes, white soaks plus cleaning materials like buckets, bathing soaps, washing soaps, washing powder soaps, shaving machines, Colgate, toothbrushes, ear pads, lotion, glycerin, toilet papers and sanitary pads for girls.
